kids of courage
Leading-edge Beit Halochem Centres across Israel offer an incomparable range of rehabilitative services.
We assist Israel’s wounded veterans from the time of injury and for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, they are not the only ones affected. The families of these men and women are also strongly impacted.
With this awareness, Beit Halochem Canada launched Kids of Courage in 2005.
Thanks to the generosity of host camps B’nai Brith-Northland, Camp George, New Moon, Wahanowin, and Walden, Bar and Bat Mitzvah-aged children of severely injured Israeli veterans have the chance to experience the summer of their lives.
During their time at camp, the Israelis bond with Canadian children, providing an invaluable experience for all. The peaceful yet vibrant camp environment allows the Israeli boys and girls to relax away from the daily challenges of their home life while the Canadians learn first-hand about life in Israel.
Ultimately, as they interact,
the children discover the similarities
far outweigh the differences in their lives.
“The magic
that happens at camp really gives them
a chance to breathe through it all.”
